On an unrelated topic, but interesting

You think you have a hard job (if you still have a job)? Consider Daniel McIntosh, goalkeeper for the Division III Northland hockey team. According to an item in the Go Figure column of this week’s Sports Illustrated (Feb. 2, 2009), McIntosh made 95 saves in a 4-0 loss to Adrian this past Friday.

Having given up four goals and made ninety-five saves, McIntosh faced 99 shots in a sixty-minute game. That is one every 36.4 seconds. Yikes!!

While McIntosh was, no doubt, thoroughly gassed by the end of the contest, his teammates were still quite fresh, having played no defense whatsoever.
